Vivian L. Saxton Obituary

Vivian “Lizzie” Saxton, born on November 2, 1942, was named for her great-grandmother Elizabeth Saxton, the first matriarch of the Saxton family.

Vivian found joy in singing and dancing; she often filled spaces with music that reflected both her spirit and soul. She loved cooking and hosting family and friends at her home, often sharing stories that brought laughter and comfort. A dedicated follower of her “stories” aka soap operas, she was enthralled by their drama and storytelling that mirrored life’s complexities. Everyone knew not to call during her stories, and if she was visiting you, you knew it would be before or after they aired.

A devout Hebrew who lived by the tenets of her faith; she offered prayers freely for anyone in need and found strength and solace in reading and quoting the Bible. Her spiritual devotion was not only personal but also communal—she uplifted others through prayer and shared wisdom rooted in scripture. Her warmth extended beyond words; Vivian lived a life marked by deep faith, unwavering love for her family and friends, and a loving spirit that touched all who knew her.

A devoted mother to daughter Renee, she is cherished by two granddaughters Lavia and Shanee, as well as great-granddaughters Kareema and Rayna, who all brought her immense joy.

Vivian peacefully departed this life on November 30, 2025. Her passing leaves broken hearts among all those who loved her including cousins Shirley, Bill, Bobbie, Mary, Janie Darden - her best friend of 70+ years, and a host of others.
