Usef Latil Dickerson

Usef Latil Dickerson was 28 years old when he was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 12:10 p.m.  Usef was born October 29, 1992 at Davis County Hospital in Layton, Utah.  He was the beloved son of Morris Waters and Yolanda Dickerson.

Usef attended and graduated from Claremont High School where he studied videography and learned how to cut hair.  At the tender age of twenty, Usef became father to his pride and joy -- Usef Dickerson, Jr. Usef’s face would light up anytime he thought of his son.  Usef was the youngest of five siblings among Yolanda Dickerson, Kevlena Dickerson, Morris Waters, Jr., and Vanessa Dickerson.  He was also the loving grandson of Annabell Dickerson and (the late) Rose and Robert Lee Waters, and was uncle to Jyheim Dickerson, Denise Ghee, Jasire Waters, Janiya Waters, Jamaya Waters, and Noah Boyce.

Usef was one to stay to himself; however, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  He played a major role not only in their lives, but in every life he encountered.  At family gatherings, he loved to cook his famous pie and homemade salads.  He also had a passion for baking and making sure his family was happy. Anyone who knew Usef knew his Saturday mornings were dedicated to his favorite animated cartoons and his video games. Usef had many aspersions in life at his young age, and had dreams of creating his own video games. Over the past couple of years, he took on the major role of caring for his mother.  He once said “It doesn’t feel like a job because nobody can take care of my mother better than me”. 

Usef, like many of us, dealt with life stressors, and endured many vicissitudes in his life; however, he maintained a gentle spirit and a heart of gold.  The passion he had for his family and friends is something many long for . . . "The Good Die Young". He will truly be missed. May he continue to rest in God’s Unchanging Hands.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother Yolanda Dickerson; his father Morris Waters; his son Usef Dickerson, Jr.; his three sisters: Vanessa Dickerson, Yolanda Dickerson and Kevlena Dickerson; one brother Morris Waters, Jr.; his grandmother Annabell Dickerson; nieces and nephews: Jyheim Dickerson, Denise Ghee, Jasire Waters, Janiya Waters, Jamaya Waters and Noah Boyce; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
