Timothy D. Thompson Obituary

Timothy Donald Thompson was born September 25, 1985, in Brooklyn, New York to the late Eva Mae Thompson and Ricky Leroy Neal. Timothy departed this life on June 19, 2023, at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, surrounded by family.

Timothy attended public schools in Brooklyn, New York. He graduated from Westinghouse High School in 2003. His career included employment in the construction and services industries before landing an apprenticeship in barbering. He would continue to develop his barbering skills until falling ill in 2018. Timothy also trained in Amateur Boxing and fought in local exhibition matches.

Since childhood, Tim has always had an affinity for doing creative things. He was naturally good at sketching and pencil drawing objects and images for which he has won drawing competitions and certificates for his renditions. He liked cooking and preparing appetizing food. When he was just eight years old, a cousin taught him how to bake a cake. That experience encouraged him to want to learn more about cooking, He would follow his mother around the kitchen until he become good at preparing complete meals. He was very good with baking and making some of his favorite dishes, like lasagna. He would he prepare most of the meals for his household. While in high school, he enrolled in a ballet dance class where he learned the art well enough to participate in a school performance.

Tim had lots of friends and in his neighborhood, he was affectionately called “TimTim” or “D.K.” For fun, he enjoyed video games, boxing, playing basketball, and watching sports. His favorite sports teams were Florida State College, The New York Knicks, and the Baltimore Ravens. Timmy will be missed by everyone who knows him because we all know him to be just a loving and fun person who never complained much. He was very mild mannered and respectful to everyone.

Timmy is preceded in death by his mother, Eva Mae Thompson and his sister, Earlene Michelle Thompson. He leaves to mourn, his father, Ricky Neal and his sister, Amelia Jones, both of Laurel, Maryland; family in Brooklyn, New York: his grandmother, Willie Dean Thompson; aunts, Margaret Kinlock and Cornelia Thompson, and uncles- Richard Thompson and Harry Thompson. Family in Southern Maryland-aunts: Clara Whiting, Annie Leftwood and Loretta Neal, and Patricia Neal, Washington, DC; one uncle, Anthony Neal, Seattle, WA. A host of cousins and one particularly special cousin whom he considered an aunt, Eva Missouri (David) of Atlanta, Georgia, as well as Theo Jones. He also leaves a significant other, Ms. Fatika Johnson and a myriad of friends and acquaintances.
