RoseMary Johnson better known as “Rosey” was born on August 17, 1955 in Summerville, SC to William and Ophelia Johnson. Rosey was a bashful child who later developed into a fearless, say it like you mean it woman. She was a lovingly devoted mother, godmother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Rosey departed and became another angel for her family on January 2, 2022 at the age 66. Her relentless spirit will forever be missed.
Rosey was a joy to be around. She loved to dance and could do the hustle like no other. She loved taking her family on exciting outings throughout the city. She was a fun mom and one of the coolest aunts. Rosey had a knack for fashion and was always very stylish. Leading her to have a love for the finer things in life.
Rosey loved food. She had more of a sweet tooth than Cookie Monster himself. She’d go far and beyond for the perfect slice of cake.
Rosey attended school in Brooklyn, NY. She graduated from Maxwell High School and went on to further her education at SUNY City College. She was a loyal employee at Chemical Bank for many years.
RoseMary will be reunited in heaven with her father William Johnson Sr., her mother Ophelia Johnson, her sister-in-law Sloane Fields and her niece Angelica Johnson.
She leaves to cherish her memory her Beloved Son Matthew Johnson, daughter-in-law Yendi Johnson, Dearest Daughter Michelle Johnson and Grandson Noah. Also, her two loving sisters Elaine Holiday and Bernadette Johnson, two brothers William Johnson Jr. and Anton “Tony” Johnson. Also morning the loss are her Godson Tyreese Maxwell, her nieces Linda, Nicholé, Alicia, Vaton and Tasha, her nephews Rodney and Darrien, great nieces and nephews and countless other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to each and every one in attendance and Thank You for every prayer and word of encouragement. We love you all!
