Ronald Lloyd Gibson Obituary

Ronald Lloyd Gibson was born on September 2, 1940 in Trelawny, Jamaica, West Indies to the late Daphne Smith and George Gibson. He was the oldest of eight children. Sadly, Ronald departed this life on August 1, 2025.

Ronald was educated at Falmouth All Age School in Trelawny, Jamaica. He moved to Kingston, Jamaica where he met and married Jenese Ferguson. Their union produced three children: Richard, Annette, and Irma.

He migrated to the United States in 1983 and became a citizen in 1994. He worked many years at the United Cerebral Palsy where he retired. He later met and married Jannie Coleman (who preceded him in death). He attended First Baptist Church of Sheepshead Bay where he sang in the male chorus and served on the Deacon Board.

Ronald was quiet and well liked - people were drawn to him. He was known for his oxtails and rice and peas. He loved to have a good time and enjoyed cruising with his daughter and her family.

Ronald leaves to cherish his memory, his children: Richard Gibson, Annette Gibson (Dave), Irma Blount (Sammy); stepdaughters: Rose Bowen, Dona Alveranga, Angela Boothe, Alberta Coleman, Shirley Coleman, and Janice Coleman-Williams; siblings: Dorrett Thomas, Hyacinth Gibson, Fay Gibson, Ronald Gibson, and Glenford Anglin; eleven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; aunt Vonny Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his son Michael Gibson; and his brothers: Winston Anglin and Neville Anglin.
