Rebecca Walker

Beloved mother, the center of our family, was born to Jeff and Lylia Brown (the seventh child of five brothers and five sisters) in Anderson, South Carolina on July 5, 1916. She attended high school in Anderson and then married Henry Walker. She remained the idealized mother throughout all her struggles. She taught us to respect ourselves and others. She encouraged us to get a college education. She leaves 3 children (2 deceased, William and Dorothy) and one living (Melvin Walker). She was a grandmother to 10 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. She was a member of St. Philiph’s Episcopal Church and active in church activities. She will be greatly missed by all.
