Patricia Powell-Fasion Obituary

Patricia “Tricia” Powell-Faison was born on March 24, 1948, in Brooklyn, New York, to John and
Thelma Powell, who raised her with an abundance of love and care. She was one of seven
children, growing up alongside three brothers and three sisters in a close-knit family. From
an early age, Tricia accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior and carried her faith
throughout her life. As the oldest of the sisters, Tricia naturally embraced a nurturing role
within the family. She became a source of guidance, support, comfort, and love for her
siblings; qualities that would define her throughout her life. Tricia was blessed with one
daughter, Mona Catrice Faison, whom she loved devotedly.

Throughout her life, Tricia was known for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication
to her family. She enjoyed cooking, caring for her home, serving as a caregiver to others, and
creating lasting memories with those she loved. She had a special gift for making people feel
welcome, valued, and cared for, and her presence brought joy to family and friends alike.
Above all, Tricia cherished her family deeply. Her compassion, understanding, strength, and
steadfast love will forever be remembered by all who knew her.

She leaves to cherish her memory her sisters, Denise Powell-Allen, Michelle Hudgens, and
Velma Powell; her beloved granddaughter, Jordan Monae Shaw; her nieces, LaDana, Leah,
and Laura Jeter, Tameka Smith, Eboni and Danielle Allen, and Tyra Whitney; her nephews,
Arthur “JR” Whitney and Hashime Powell; as well as many other great-nieces, great-nephews,
loving relatives, and dear friends.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, John and Thelma Powell; her beloved
daughter, Mona Catrice Faison; her brothers, Johnny, Winston, and Henry Powell; and her
nephew, Winston “Elliot” Williams. We take comfort in knowing that those who went before
her have welcomed her with open arms. Though her passing leaves a profound void in our
hearts, we find peace in the love she shared, the lives she touched, and the beautiful
memories she leaves behind. Her legacy of compassion and devotion to her family will
continue to live on through all who were blessed to know and love her.
