Onetha Brantley Wooten-Hall, affectionately called "Neat", transitioned to be with the Lord on Friday, May 28, 2021, at the age of 81. Onetha was born on May 19, 1940, to the late John and Mozella Brantley and was the oldest of 9 children. She graduated from Jeff Davis High School in 1959.
After graduation, she moved to Connecticut where she worked as a live-in nanny. It was here that her love for children began. In 1963 she married Edward Wooten and from this union, there were three beautiful children, Kenneth, Keith, and Karen. She remained married to Edward until his death in 1977. In 1987, at the age of 47, Onetha married James Norris Hall and from this union her youngest, Kaynetha, was born. She loved her children and was devoted to each of them.
She attended a semester at Kingsborough Community College prior to becoming a full-time wife and mother. She was employed by the Department of Education of New York for 32 years. She was a dedicated Assistant Teacher at Intermediate School #55 until she retired in 2002. She loved helping her students and nurturing all those who came in contact with her.
She was a soft-spoken and petite woman. She was always willing to share her knowledge on a variety of topics, especially spiritual and health matters.
Onetha leaves to cherish her memory her children: Kenneth Wooten, Keith Wooten, Karen Wooten, and Kaynetha (Hall) Walker (Anthony). Her siblings: Betty Brantley, Carol McKever, Doris Jacobs, Garry Brantley, June Cummings (Lawrence). Her grandchildren: Keisha, Dallas, Darrus, Kendara, Nyla, and Christopher, and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, family and friends.
