Messiline Gamory, also known as “Lynn”, was born to (the late) Alfred and Mariah Wilson, on December 23, 1935 in Union Island, St. Vincent, the last of eleven children. At the age of eight, Lynn migrated to Upper Laventille, Trinidad to live with her eldest sister, Faith, and her children -- Alfred, known as Farid, Alladin, known as Carl and Eltrice, known Evelyn.
In 1970, Lynn married Vernon Gamory. From their union came David (deceased) and Yvette. In the early 1990s, Lynn and Vernon migrated to the United States and settled in Brooklyn, New York.
Lynn was a fun, jovial and loving person. She loved to cook, especially for her friends and family. Everyone was welcomed at her house. No matter what the occasion, Lynn loved family gatherings.
On Sunday, February 28, 2021, Lynn departed this life peacefully in her sleep. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband, six sisters, four brothers, and her son David.
She is survived by and leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter Yvette Gamory; as well as a host of nieces (including Evelyn who was her caretaker), nephews, cousins and friends who loved her dearly, including her close friends: Annette Alexander and Keith Bunbury who were always there for her throughout her illness.
