On March 21, 2023, Lorna Evangeline Anderson gained her wings and went to walk with the angels. She was 89 years old.
Born in Kingston (Franklyn Town) Jamaica, to Mavis Carnegie and Allan Anderson. Lorna was raised by her grandmother and her Aunts in a humble, family-oriented life, the family was everything. Lorna as the only girl in her grandmother's care was loved unconditionally in a home filled with much joy and laughter.
Lorna was a Dressmaker with Lloyd’s in Jamaica and later branched out on her own. In 1976 she migrated to Montreal, Canada, and later to the United States, where she joined her mother and sister Shirley. She gained employment with the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation (CNR) from 1979 until her retirement in 2008.
She was more than happy to be the central figure in the lives of her nine children, with her second child Daylyn predeceased her. Lorna had a strong love for her brothers and her sisters, and that love crossed over to her nieces and nephews.
Lorna left behind 18 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and one Sister Maureen. A host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
Lorna is survived by daughters Dawn, Lorraine, Arlene, Donna, and Christine, sons George, Keith, and Richard, Sons-in-Law Oward and Leighton, Daughters-in-Law Maureen, and Ambretta.
