Leta D. Manley Obituary

Leta Delores Manley was born on May 11, 1946, to (the late) Edward L. Thomas Manley and Mary Baker at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, New York.  She attended Franklin K. Lane High School, after which she went on to work at Amtrak where she remained for almost twenty-five years, until she retired.

Delores, as she was affectionately called, was the mother of three: Mario Davis (who predeceased her), Michael and Marvis. She was also preceded in death by three brothers: Joseph Manley, Pierre Manley, and Butch Johnson; and one sister Joan Johnson.

Praising Almighty God for the beauty of her life, Delores leaves behind to cherish her loving memories, her son Michael Anthony Manley (of New York), and daughter Marvis Davis (of Georgia); three grandchildren: Michael Divine Manley, Madisyn Leta Manley (both of New York) and Myles Cole Manley (of Maryland); three brothers: Peter Baker (of Georgia), Vincent Manley (of Rhode Island) and Jeffrey Thomas (of New York); four sisters: Mona Manley (of Maryland), Yvonne Manley (of Tennessee), Patricia Manley and Iyeshia Manley-Lombardo (both of New York); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

We bow in humble submission to the will of God -- a God too wise to make a mistake. Although our hearts are heavy, we find comfort knowing that Delores is now with those who preceded her in eternal rest, as her battle on this earth was won.
