In Loving Memory of Karen “Katty” Thomas
With deep sorrow and heartfelt love, we gather to honor the life of Karen Thomas, who departed this life on April 24, 2026, at 4:30 p.m., at the age of 62.
Karen, lovingly known as Katty, was born Karen Yvette Anderson in Brooklyn, New York, on February 16, 1964. She later made her home in Easton, Pennsylvania, where she continued to share her warmth, kindness, and love with everyone around her.
Karen was the youngest daughter of Sinclair Anderson Sr. and Theresa Anderson, both of whom preceded her in death.
Karen was a devoted and loving wife to Tommie Thomas Jr., her childhood sweetheart. She held their bond close to her heart. Karen was a proud and dedicated mother to Latisha Jenkins, Ashley Anderson, and Shalonte Page, and she was preceded in death by her son, Troy Anderson, whom she loved deeply. Karen was also a proud and adoring grandmother to Chance and Brooklynn Jenkins, who brought so much joy and light into her life.
Karen retired from the NYPD Traffic Division, where she served for years with pride and commitment. But more than anything, Karen was a caregiver at heart. She loved cooking meals that brought her family together, spending time with her grandchildren, and enjoying music. She loved to dance, and when she did, you could see her joy shine through.
Katty will be remembered as a sweet, kind, and thoughtful woman who never had a bad word to say about anyone. She was deeply loyal to her family, especially to her husband, and she showed that love in everything she did. Her beautiful smile, her laughter, and her quiet strength touched so many lives. She took care of everyone around her without complaint, always putting others before herself.
Even in her passing, Katty’s love continued. Through organ donation, she gave the gift of life and saved five lives—one final reflection of the selfless, giving woman she had always been.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Tommie Thomas Jr.; her children, Latisha Jenkins, Ashley Anderson, and Shalonte Page; her beloved grandchildren, Chance and Brooklynn Jenkins; her siblings,Sandra Roper, Lula Mathis, Sarah Graham, Brenda Anderson, Linda Anderson, Theresa Anderson, Dexter Anderson and Sinclair Anderson Jr. and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends who will carry her love with them always.
Today, we hold on to the love she gave, the memories she created, and the legacy she leaves behind. Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful to have been loved by her.
Karen “Katty” Thomas will forever live in our hearts—loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.
