Kai Kathleen Cousins

Kai will always be lovingly remembered as the daughter of (the late) Knolly and Mary Robinson. She was born on May 19, 1951, the eigth child of this union. Kai departed this life on March 5, 2020. She attended St. Gabriel's Elementary School and St. Joseph's Convent in San Fernando, Trinidad.

Kai migrated to the United States from Trinidad in 1969 to further her education. She attended several Colleges in the City and graduated with a degree from Borough of Manhattan Community College.

She met her future husband in 1978 and later married him on October 11, 1979.  This union produced three children Abayomi, Akintunde and Jabari. Kai was a devoted wife and mother to her husband and children and during the last five years to her grandson, Jaxon.

She is the sister of June Richardson (Mervyn), Judith Phillip, Umilta Sargeant, Earle Robinson (Hillary), Lucky Robinson (Jennifer), Akintola Shaka Agaja,* Mary Joyce Robinson*, Lenore Claverie* and Jeffery Robinson (Allison Naidu)*.

Sister-in-law of Patricia Hunt, Pamela and (Phillip) Savage, Audrey Scott, Sonia Dalmida, Jennifer Walsh, Neville and (Monica) Gillespie;

Related to the Robinsons, Cousins, Jones, Gillespies, Murphys, Osbornes, Haynes, Providence, Francis, Williams, Claveries, Bellamys, Scotts and Savages.

During her working years, Kai was employed as a Secretary and Office Manager at Basic Four, MetLife Insurance Company and the New York Center of Truth, where she attended church.

She was a kind and generous soul always willing to help her church family wherever and whenever needed. Kai will be greatly missed.
