Jessie Parker-Williams Obituary

Jessie Pearl Parker Williams was born on November 24, 1948 to the late John D Parker and Bessie Parker Townsend in Troy, Alabama. She was affectionately known to family and friends as Ann. After graduating from Hillcrest High School in Brundidge, Alabama she made the journey to Brooklyn, New York. This is where she met and later married Isiah “Ike” Williams.

Her passion was preparing food and spending time with family and friends. Ann was known for her delicious Collard Greens, Potato Salad, Sweet Potato Pie, Banana Pudding and Macaroni and Cheese. Cheering for her beloved New York Knicks and New York Mets was a favorite pastime. She was very dedicated to God. Under the leadership of Bishop Roy E. Brown of Pilgrim Church, she served on the Usher Board.

For over 34 years she worked at Verizon where she was a dedicated and devoted worker until she retired in 2003. She wore many supervisory hats and served as the office shop steward for Local 1110. She touched the lives of many people during her journey that started at 101 Willoughby Street and ended at 125 West 73rd Street.

She departed her life on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Mount Sinai Hospital. Ann was preceded in death by her father, mother, three sisters and brother. She is survived by her husband Isiah “Ike” Williams; two daughters La-Tonya (Jeffery) Williams-McLaurin and La-Faye (Steve) Williams-Harvey; four grandkids Jasmine and Justin McLaurin, Rashawn Williams and Taylor Harvey; one great-grandson Rafael “Tre” Stewart III; her brother and sisters: Jewel (Charles) Clouden, Myrtle Johnson, John (Bernice) Parker, Charlie (Bernice) Parker, Willie (Cynthia) Parker, Nathaniel (Sharon) Parker, Gloria Parker, Rex (Jackie) Parker, Rickey (Priscilla) Parker, Johnny B (Elaine) Parker, Mary (Archie) Giles, Gwength (Melvin) Knight, Victor (Dorothy) Howard and Nicole Parker; Two sister -in- laws: Emily (Frank) Legree, and Ruby (George) Crumpler; Aunt: Adine Pennington; Special Cousins: Callie Alloway and James Christian; Special friends: Revered Willie “Junior” Henderson(and cousin), Mildred “Juanita” James, Catherine “Cathy” Mozyck, Fletcher Croswell and Euney Parker; Extended family: Raphael Stewart Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
