Henry "Monty" Lamont Swain

Henry Lamont Swain, known as “Monty”, was born on August 21,1973 to Jeraldine (“Jeri”) & Leon in East Elmhurst, Queens, New York, but was raised in Brooklyn.  He attended middle school at P.S. 161, and junior high at Jackie Robinson I.S. 320.  He continued his education at Prospect Heights High School where he started a year early with high honors. 

After high school, he joined the U.S. Marines specializing in Telecommunications, and earned the rank of Lance Corporal.  Upon his honorable discharge from the military, Monty maintained security positions at Kingsboro Community College and The World Trade Center.  His last days of employment were at ABC Carpet Company where he was a Senior Security Officer.  He loved life and his family. 

His smile was big, his heart open, his laugh mighty.  Although we will miss his presence, we find solitude knowing that Monty has found peace.

On Tuesday, February 23, 2021, Henry Lamont Swain departed this life in Brooklyn, New York.  He is survived by his parents: Leon and Jeraldine Vaden; his beloved son Austin D. Sanchez; his sister Linda F. Swain; his nephew Jayson C. Swain; and  a host of aunts, nephews, great-nieces, cousins, as well as his “brothers” and “sisters” in life, other relatives and friends.
