Harvey L. Davis Jr. Obituary

Harvey Lee Davis Jr. was born in New York, NY on May 5, 1952, to the late Harvey Lee Davis

and Ethel Davis. He was affectionately known as “Poop” to his family and close friends. As a

young man he would often be found playing basketball and going for bike rides across the

Brooklyn Bridge.

Harvey attended Stony Brook College in Stony Brook, NY and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in

Education. For many years Harvey taught at a specialized school in New York, NY. He was

loved and well respected by all of the students that he worked with.

Harvey loved music. He had an extensive music collection. Harvey would often be found singing

and was known for his melodic voice as he led songs for his church choir. He also loved to

dance. His favorite dance was The Hustle.

Along with Harvey’s talented musical ability, he was exceptional with working with his hands.

Harvey was a skilled woodworker. He crafted toys out of wood for his children and

grandchildren. He served as a Building Superintendent for over 20 years where he was loved by

his landlords and neighbors. Harvey was also known for helping one of his close friends with

major home rehabilitation projects throughout Baltimore, Maryland.

Harvey was preceded in death by his mother Ethel Davis, his father Harvey Lee Davis, one

brother Garland Davis; one sister Charlene Davis; and one niece Crystal Davis. He leaves to

celebrate his life and to cherish many loving memories his daughter Kissena Wright; his son

Christopher Davis; one granddaughter Chavree Donovan; one grandson Trevon Brooks; two

brothers Donald and Gilma Davis; one sister Phyllis Davis; three nieces Shoneca, Kimberly and

Donique; two nephews Afred and Thomas; and a host of many other extended family members

and friends.
