Harvey McCoy Anthony Obituary

Harvey McCoy Anthony was born on October 3, 1935 in Scotland Neck, North Carolina to (the late) Preston McCoy Anthony and Carrie Taylor Anthony.

After graduating from Brawley High School in Scotland Neck in 1953, Harvey went on to attend North Carolina A & T College in Greensboro.  He enjoyed spending time with his adopted sister Mamie.

In 1958, he met (the late) Marion Bond, and on August 6, 1960, they were married and remained so for fifty-three years.  From their union, one child, Patricia, was born.

Harvey worked for the following firms: Bache, Halsey, Stuart, and Shield, American Bank and Trust Company, and Bank Leumi Trust Company.  He worked at Bank Leumi Trust for nineteen years, retiring as the Vault Supervisor.

Harvey loved his family and friends beyond measure. For fifty years, he served as a faithful member and Deacon of Zion Baptist Church.  He loved his church family and his Watch Care families.  Harvey loved talking to his family, friends and neighbors of Decatur Street.

On Saturday, December 19, 2020, Harvey departed this life at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.  He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter Patricia (and her husband Laddie, Sr.); two grandchildren whom he adored: Laddie, II and Kristina; three sisters-in-law: Gloria Wilder, Sandra Eason and Joan Bond; one brother-in-law Vincent Bond; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church members and friends.
