Ginger Elenor Morrison was born on August 8th, 1935 to (the late) Vincent Morrison and Myrtle Cumberland Morrison in the City of Colón, Republic of Panama. There, she attended Pablo Arosemena Elementary School, and continued her education, graduating from Abel Bravo High School.
At an early age, Ginger was the Queen of the Campesino Comparsa for the Colón Carnival, and, you had to PAY to see her.
In 1983, Ginger moved to Brooklyn, New York and worked for the City New York for over thirty years as an Eligibility Specialist 3 in the Human Resources Department.
Ginger belonged to the Laundromat Posse and then upgraded to the Subway Posse, and no one could take her seat. She sure loved giving orders.
Ginger was fire; she was a no-nonsense type of person, but had a sweet, giving side to her. She was also a devoted Catholic.
On Thursday, June 17, 2021, Ginger Morrison departed this life. Though predeceased by her sisters: Norma and Dorothy, she leaves to celebrate her memory, her son Camilo Creque (and his wife Maritza Creque); her sister Amelia Morrison; her special nephew Alonzo “Thaddy” whom she loved as a son; four grandchildren: Jacob (better known as “Camilito”), Phillip, Byron, and Aminta; her niece Elvia; her nephews: Cecilio and Ernesto; her cousin Aurelia; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Ginger loved celebrating her birthday, cooking and partying. She was a kind person, and would not want any of us to be sad. Thus, let us please take time to reflect on the wonderful memories we all had with her.
