Estelle Love Obituary

On March 25, 1940, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Estelle Love was born to the late Lucius Love, Sr. and Earnestine Bates Love. She was the seventh child and youngest daughter born to this union of eight children. Estelle was deeply loved by her family and was the last surviving sibling of her generation. She now joins her parents and beloved brothers and sisters in the ancestral realm: Nathaniel, Lucius Jr., Lewis, Rosie, Bernice, Marion, and Blue.

Estelle received her early education in Tuscaloosa, attending 23rd Street School and Industrial High School. As a young woman, she later relocated to New York, where she continued her education at Clara Barton High School while living with her sister. During her younger years, Estelle dreamed of becoming a nurse or an X-ray technician. Though life led her down a different path, she found meaningful and rewarding employment with the New York City Department of Education, where she faithfully served as a paraprofessional and positively impacted the lives of countless children.

Estelle was a devoted mother who lovingly raised four children:  Teresa, James "Jerome"(Lorrie), Selvin “Vinny”, and Bacchus. Through marriage, she was blessed with three additional children whom she loved as her own: Noa, Todd, and Lance (who preceded her in death).

Estelle lived a full and fruitful life . She found joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren, and extended family. She leaves to cherish her memory her children; her grandchildren: Nicole, James, Tiffani, Julien, Nicholas and Malik. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Trequan, Deanee, Melanie, Amari, Precious, Raiah, and Zarah; and one treasured great-great-granddaughter, Rose. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones whose lives were touched by her kindness and unwavering love.

In her younger years, Estelle enjoyed taking long walks, practicing yoga, and baking her famous brownies, which became a favorite among family and friends. Her gentle spirit, warm smile, and nurturing nature made her a source of comfort and encouragement to many.

Above all else, Estelle loved the Lord. Her faith was the foundation upon which she built her life. She was a dedicated and faithful member of the Heaven on Earth Church of God in Christ family. For many years, she faithfully served as the church caretaker, ensuring that the house of worship was always ready for ministry. Her family often joked, "She has all the keys to the church," a testament to her commitment and service.

Estelle's faith sustained her through life's many challenges, including her courageous battle with breast cancer, which she survived through determination, prayer, and God's grace. Following a medical procedure in 2017, her health began to decline, yet she continued to trust in God and remained steadfast in her faith.

Today, we celebrate a life well lived, a life marked by faith, service, resilience, and unconditional love. Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we rejoice in knowing that Estelle has heard the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant," and now rests in the eternal presence of her Lord and Savior.

Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
