Our loving Aunt Daphne touched many lives with her giving spirit. She was kind, generous and always willing to help others. Daphne Bertrand was born on October 16th,1936 on the island of Trinidad. Her mother Cecilia George was deceased when Daphne was only 6 years old, leaving her in the care of her grandmother.
After her primary education, she started working at the very young age of 16 years but continued her education at the John Donalson Technical Institute in Port of Spain, Trinidad. In 1968 Daphne immigrated to the U.S. where she settled in Brooklyn. Daphne gained employment at NY Telephone Co. (Verizon) as a Keypunch Operator where she was employed for over 35 years. After courting for several years, she married the late Mike Jacobs and years later she married the late Etzer Bertrand. Daphne had a passion for crafting, cooking and traveling. Daphne was a truly remarkable woman who will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
