Corean Wright

Corean Wright, the second of seven children conceived by (the late) Cora Belle Wright, was born May 4, 1927 in Wingina, Virginia.  She departed this life on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at the Linden Center Nursing Home. 

Corean came from a Christian home where her grandfather was a minister in the church.  She was taught Christian values which she applied to her daily life.

In 1932 at the age of five, Corean left her hometown of Wingina with family and moved to Brooklyn, New York.  She always believed that there was no place on earth to live that was greater than the State of New York. 

Corean remained in New York and landed her first job as a factory worker.  Later, she sought out her passion and became a Home Attendant, taking care of the elderly and the sick.  Corean was strong minded, kindhearted, and family oriented.  She showed great, loving devotion towards her late brother Robert Wright when he became ill.

Her hobbies were: gardening, cleaning, portrait drawing of photos, feeding the birds, and listening to classical music.  Corean was both loved and cherished.  She will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved her most.

Corean was predeceased by one sister Genevieve, and two brothers: Robert and Daniel.  She leaves to cherish her memory, two brothers: Luther and Richard; one sister Bernice; three loving family members who were her caregivers – two nieces: Maxine Wright and Laverne Ochoa, and her great-niece Monique Dickerson; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
