Conway E. Waldron Obituary
Conway Edgar Waldron, affectionately known as “Connie,” left us on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at the age of 93. Born on August 19, 1931 in Colón, Republic of Panama to Clarence Waldron and Sylvia Agatha Beresford Waldron, Conway was the eldest of five brothers. He was preceded in death by his beloved brothers: Franklin and Roderick Waldron.
Conway’s early life was marked by his dedication and hard work. He attended Abel Bravo High School in Colón before beginning a career at the Panama Hilton Hotel, and later serving as a Canal Zone firefighter. In 1960, Conway moved to the United States where he worked as an Account Representative for Charmer Industries, a subsidiary of Constellation Brands, Inc., until his retirement in 1998.
Known for his impeccable style, Conway was always a sharp dresser with a particular fondness for Panama hats, Italian shoes and cars. He had a calm, easygoing nature, and was the epitome of grace under pressure. No matter the situation, Conway’s unflappable demeanor and good humor made him a joy to be around. He was often the life of the party, continuing to celebrate life well into his 90s, most recently marking his 92nd birthday at his beloved Michelle’s Cocktail Lounge.
Conway leaves behind his devoted wife Aixa Cecilia Ferguson; two daughters: Xiomara Cecilia Waldron and Marcela Aixa Waldron; one son Ricardo Antonio Waldron; and his two grandchildren. He is also survived by his two brothers: Clarence (“Ciego”) Waldron and Alphonso Waldron, Sr.; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Conway’s legacy of love, laughter, and elegance
will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
May his soul rest in eternal peace!
