Christopher Jones, better known to everyone around him as Chris, son of Velda Williams and (the late) Christopher Russell Hampden was born on April 23rd, 1964 in Christ Church, Barbados. As a young child, Chris was relocated to America and was raised most of his life at 408 St. John's Place in Brooklyn, New York 11238. 

 Chris finished Eli Whitney High School in Brooklyn and graduated from Turo College. At 22 years old in 1986, he joined the US Army Reserves. This honorable decision uprooted him down South to the military base in Georgia and Alabama. Chris went into training for material control and also as an account specialist. In 1988, he then switched from the Army Reserves to active duty training as a chemical operation 

specialist and for a biological integrated detection system. 

While being enlisted, Chris traveled and lived  Germany. Mr. Jones was also awarded the Kuwait Liberation Medal-Saudi Arabia for his active duty services in the Gulf War before being honorably discharged in 1995. He moved back to his neighborhood (which he loved so much) for good in 1998. That same year soon after estsblishing 408 St. John's Pl, Brooklyn, NY 11238 as his permanent residence, Chris worked and retired from the United States Postal Service Union.

   It is indisputable that my dad was a huge sports fan, especially for ALL NY teams! His favorite team, of course, were the New York Knicks. It was a blessing that he left this earth knowing they won the championship title this year. Chris enjoyed being at the neighborhood block parties and grilling for everyone. He loved his children and being around the comradery of all his family and friends which were too many to count! His love for dressing up and corridinating his outfits to match his shoes and hat to a T was his signature style. Chris also had a joy for walking to all of his favorite stores to play his numbers. In the military, he gained the nickname "Nip It In A Bud". Then later in his journies, he was also called "Country".

   Everyone who crossed his path can agree that Chris left an undeniable mark on our hearts. He always kept it real with everyone he came across. His smile, humor, compassion and sincere actions will forever be ingrained in us all to cherish.

    The world will never truly be the same without him. He was a great father and friend who will genuinely be missed every single day.

    Chris leaves behind his loving children Christina (daughter), Christopher and Michael (sons), loving and devoted mother Velda Williams, loving siblings Ronald(brother), Carlton(brother), Carl(brother), loving family/best friend Mike Jones(cousin), Therold a.k.a Cat (uncle), loving grand children Kayliana(granddaughter), Justin(grandson), Christopher(grandson), Kaisha Acosta Jones (niece), Nathaniel Marshall (Godson), also a multitude of extended family such as nieces and nephews, God/step children, grandchildren, uncles, aunts, cousins, close family and friends, and everyone he's ever meaningfully encountered. Chris is preceded in death by loving family Ian Jones(cousin)
