Carrie "Lil Bit" McEachin was born on September 15, 1955, to Carrie Mae and Neil McEachin in Brooklyn, New York. She departed this life on the night of January 1, 2026.

Carrie was educated in Brooklyn, New York, and graduated from Sarah J. High School. She later worked for the Federal Reserve until suffering a stroke in 1981. Once Carrie learned to live with her disability, she never allowed it to define her. Throughout her life, she took great pride in her independence and perseverance, always determined to do for herself and move through the world on her own terms.

Affectionately known as "Lilbit" from an early age, she was known for her vibrant personality, strong will, and deep connection to her family and community. Lilbit had a true love for social gatherings and neighborhood fellowship. She especially enjoyed playing cards, being surrounded by familiar faces, and staying connected to her Sumner "family." Her presence brought warmth, laughter, and a sense of togetherness wherever she went.

Lilbit leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Gloria "Lil Sista" McEachin (Leon); her brothers, Neal "Brother Boy" McEachin (Brenda) and Joseph McEachin (Earlene); along with a host of loving nieces and nephews, many dear friends, and extended family. Lilbit is reunited in eternal rest with her parents, Carrie Mae and Neil McEachin; her brother, Howard McEachin; and her sister, Ester McEachin.

Carrie "Lilbit" McEachin will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for her strength, independence, and the love she shared so freely with those around her.
