Carolyn (Carol) Louise Weekes-McQueen was born on November 1, 1945 to (the late) Eva Frances Gayle Weekes and Eustace Adalbert Weekes in Brooklyn, New York.  A true daughter of Brooklyn, Carolyn was educated in the New York City public school system, graduating from Central Commercial High School in 1963.  Carolyn was known to be full of energy, which was often on full display as a member of her high school bowling team. She loved to laugh and live in the moment.

Shortly after graduating high school, Carolyn married her childhood sweetheart, Robert Daniel McQueen, Sr., and from their union, they had three sons.  When you saw Carolyn, you knew her boys were not far behind.  She had a warm and welcoming smile, a vivacious personality, and an incredibly fun sense of humor. Carolyn loved music (it would fill her up), and could often be seen dancing to a favored song – a trait she shares with her sons.

Carolyn worked for the New York City Department of Social Services for thirty years before retiring as a Staff Analyst in 2001. She was a longtime member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Hempstead, New York.  Carolyn was a loving and passionate spirit, and she will be deeply missed.

On Saturday, January 16, 2021, Carolyn departed this life.  Though predeceased by two siblings, Tyrone Weekes and Danny Weekes, she leaves to mourn and cherish her loving memory, her husband Robert McQueen, Sr.; their three sons: Robert McQueen, Jr. (Sherice) of East Brunswick, New Jersey, Kelvin T. McQueen (Akilah), of Brooklyn, New York and Kevin McQueen (Suzette) of Charlotte, North Carolina; her siblings: Jerry Johnson, Eustace Weekes (Natalie), Courtney Weekes, Millicent Weekes and Darlene Weekes; six grandchildren: Taylor Ebron-McQueen, Shane and Courtney McQueen, Dalila A. McQueen and Sedona and Kyle McQueen; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
