Beverly M. Avera Obituary

Beverly Avera is the daughter of the late Clarence and Myrtle Cheatham. Beverly was born in Manhattan, NY.  She attended Catholic School and graduated from Franklin K. Lane High School.


Beverly then went to earn her degree from the College of New Rochelle.  She worked at Child Development Support Corporation as a foster care supervisor.


Beverly married her childhood sweetheart, Edward and through this union came 3 daughters, Lavada, Quadisha, and Qiana.  She also raised and became more than an aunt to her late sister Gaylen “Pookie” Cheatham 2 daughters, Terria and Saquana, and she too was their mother.


Beverly departed this life on May 21, 2026.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Myrtle Cheatham, her husband Edward, sister Pookie, and brother-in-law Thomas.  She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Lavada, Terria, Quadisha, Saquana and Qiana.  Her grandchildren are Rashad, Shaniece, Sharod, Rashawn, Dy’Kweil, Marquasia, Se’Onna, Sequan, and Lahmique.  Her great-grandchildren are Khamani, Kelis, Ryann, Kween, Kwinn, Chaiye, Sincere, Khari, Caleb, Naomi, and Kali and one great-great-granddaughter, Kalani.  Her extended Avera family. Her devoted eternal “sisters and brother” Melanie, Vivian, Jennifer, and Judson, her forever 450 and Clinton Avenue family and a host of other relatives and friends.
