Bebian Aranha, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025, in Brooklyn, NY, at the age of 78.
Born in Bombay, India, Bebian lived a life full of warmth, generosity, and compassion. She was the devoted mother of two surviving children, cherished grandmother to eight, and proud great-grandmother to two. Her nurturing spirit extended far beyond her own family—over her 35-year career as an au pair, she lovingly cared for and helped raise more than two dozen children, leaving a lasting impact on every life she touched.
Bebian’s kitchen was always filled with love and the delicious aromas of her home-cooked meals. Cooking was her favorite way to bring people together, and her dishes will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of sharing a meal with her.
A passionate supporter of St. Jude’s Research Hospital, Bebian believed deeply in giving back and helping others. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in her name to St. Jude’s, honoring her legacy of kindness and generosity.
A wake will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, followed by a funeral service followed by a repast on Friday, December 19, 2025. Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating Bebian’s remarkable life and the love she shared with so many.
She will be dearly missed and forever remembered for her loving heart, selfless spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family and community here in Brooklyn.
