Sharon Denise McCrackin was born on May 20, 1965 to Margie Lee McCrackin and Robert Johnson at Sydenham Hospital in Harlem, New York.
Sharon was very big on her children's education. This led her to join the Parent-Teachers’ Association where she played multiple roles. Her main role was being the Meyer Levin I.S. 285 Treasurer; however she did not stop there. She helped out with fundraisers, dances, school shows and trip planning. Sharon even helped out with school safety.
One of the best things about Sharon was that she was very persistent; she never left until the job was completed. She carried this persistence over to her next job at Long Life Rehabilitation Network where she served as a Community Rehabilitation worker and as a Co-op Coordinator.
Sharon's friendly personality made it easy for people to fall in love with her. Not only was she a mentor to her own children, she was a mentor to the students she encountered every day. She was a true example of what it meant to be a mother. Sharon embodied the spirit of a warrior and heavily embraced family values. She knew that there was not only strength in numbers but in unity as well.
She was God's true walking angel who was called home on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Long Island Jewish Hospital surrounded by the love of her mother, spouse and children.
Sharon is survived by her spouse Keith Owens; seven children: Jamilah, Jasmin, Kisha, Tameka and Jaleesa McCrackin, and Keith, Jr. and Niema Owens; her mother Margie Lee McCrackin; her grandchildren: Bryanna, Arianna, Janiyah, Jahmir, Jada, Kavon, Kadien and Brittany; and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who loved her dearly.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever shall believe in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.” ~ John 3:16
