Lisa Tracy Gill

Lisa Tracy Gill, 57, entered into eternal peace on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at the Silvercrest Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Briarwood, New York.

Lisa was born on Monday, December 25, 1961 to (the late) Calvin Emmanuel Gill and Mamie Lee Lewis Gill, and grew up in Brooklyn, New York.  She graduated from New Utrecht High School, and went on to attend New York City Technical College where she received a degree in Marketing.  Lisa worked as a legal secretary for more than twenty-five years. 

Lisa’s greatest love was her daughter Krystle who was born in July 1990.  She was a loving mother who doted on her child and denied her nothing.  Their relationship was one of a kind.  When you saw Lisa, you knew that Krystle wasn’t too far away.  They were truly inseparable.  Lisa was especially happy in 2012 when Krystle gave birth to her first grandson, Karter.  Needless to say, she was just as elated to welcome Kristian when he arrived four years later.

Lisa spent many years as a Girl Scout Leader and enjoyed spending her Saturdays with the girls and other leaders. In fact, many of them became extended family.  Those around her knew that her bark was bigger than her bite.  She was just as spicy as she was sensitive.  She loved life and looked for any reason to celebrate the people around her. Krystle’s friends, who affectionately referred to her as “Ma” or “Ms. Lisa”, became her other children, and she cared for them as if they were her own.

Though predeceased by her father Calvin Gill, Lisa leaves loving memories to be cherished by her daughter Krystle Watson; her mother Mamie Lee Gill; her sister Vicky Broadhurst; her brother-in-law Carlyle Joseph; her grandsons: Karter and Kristian Weir; her grandnephew Nixon Joseph; her nephew Jhonathan  Joseph (and his wife Unika); her aunt Janet and uncle Jerry (of North Carolina); another aunt Emily Gill; her niece Tiffani Joseph; her cousins: Sonja Cooke and Michael Cooke (both of North Carolina), Alan Cooke (of New Jersey), Jeff Cooke (of North Carolina), Anthony Cooke (of Georgia), Rodney Cooke (of Texas), and Terrence Gill and Cheryl Gill (both of New York); her life partner John Freeman; and a host of other relatives and friends.
