Crystal Marie Williams was the daughter of Dr. Robert Williams, Jr., Rev. Bernadine Thomas-Williams and Joyce Ann Williams. During her preschool years, Crystal attended the Montessori School in Atlanta, Georgia. Crystal engaged in hands-on activities that stimulated creativity, independence and resourcefulness.
Crystal joined Bridge Street African Wesleyan Methodist Episcopal (AWME) Church on January 29, 2001 and became an active member of the Bridge Street Sunday Church School. She participated in Christmas and Easter programs. Crystal attended the Bridge Street Preparatory School, the Bridge Street After School Tutorial Center and the Bridge Street Summer Enrichment Program. These stimulating and nurturing educational environments enabled Crystal to obtain academic skills and to develop a positive self- concept.
Crystal graduated from The Sterling School and The Winston Preparatory School. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from Long Island University, CW Post.
Crystal was initiated into Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Pi Rho Chapter on April 13, 2012. Crystal served as President of the Pi Rho Chapter for the fiscal year of 2013-2014. Crystal presided over the Pi Rho Chapter as President during the celebration of the sorority's centennial celebration in 2013. She represented the chapter with other members on Founders Day at the birth place of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. at Howard University. During her tenure as President Crystal planned, coordinated, and executed dozens of public service programs for the LIU campus and Nassau County community, which went on to win numerous awards such as The Greek Academic Excellence Award, Outstanding Social Action Award for AIDS Awareness Day, and Most Distinguished Greek Chapter of the Year. Crystal also lead the Pi Rho Chapter in the spring on 2014 and oversaw the membership intake program, which initiated four new members into her illustrious organization.
Crystal was employed as a Salon Assistant at Harry Winston, Inc. Ms. Sarah Adachi, Crystal's Supervisor, stated the following concerning Crystal's job performance: "Crystal was a beloved colleague and friend. Dedicated and hard- working, she was always ready to take on the next project with a positive attitude. Her kindness and care for others brought a brightness to all she interacted with. She will be greatly missed.
Crystal loved her family, friends, line sisters and colleagues at Harry Winston, Inc. She greeted them with a radiant smile, a hug, a kind word and listened to their stories. Crystal was a personable, social, energetic, creative and an intelligent individual. Crystal was always helping others, without expecting anything in return. Crystal's favorite bible verse was "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." (Philippians 4:13, NKJV).
Crystal will forever be remembered by her parents Dr. Robert J. Williams, Jr., Rev. Bernadine Thomas-Williams, Joyce Williams, one sister; Shanice Williams, two brothers; Rashawn Williams and Antoine Williams, cousins, line sisters, friends, Tameka Jones and extended Bridge Street AWME Church family.
