Cynthia Carolyn Spicer-Williams, affectionately known as Cinnie or Cindy, was born on April 19, 1936 in Brooklyn, New York. Cindy was the fourth child of Russell Spicer and Helen Bryant Spicer. Raised in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood, she received her education from New York City public schools, and graduated from Sarah J. Hale Vocational High School in Brooklyn.
Her son Sean was her pride and joy, and she cherished her role as a devoted mother. She also held a special place in her heart for her granddaughters, Brooke and Sloane, her grandson Jeremy, as well as her great-nieces: Briah, Alliah and Alanah for whom she provided great care.
Cindy dedicated over 30 years of her life to Bell Atlantic, later known as Verizon Communications, until her well-deserved retirement.
Known for her caring and giving nature, Cindy was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She built strong friendships over the years, and was a pillar of support in her community on Prospect Place and beyond. Described as caring, selfless, generous, and hardworking, Cindy was also known for her intelligence and wisdom, always willing to share her insights with others.
Cindy's love for music, laughter, and social gatherings was evident in her joyful spirit and beautiful smile. She enjoyed traveling with her girlfriends, especially on cruises, and indulged in her favorite treats like Chinese food and spaghetti. Her sweet tooth was well-known among her loved ones.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents: Russell and Helen Spicer; her long-time partner Harold Adams; her brother Thomas Spicer; her friend and sister-in-law Victoria Spicer; her brother Russell Spicer; sister Florita Green; her niece Wanda Green; and her nephew Christopher Davies.
