Jesse "JC" AbramsMay 27, 1927 ~ December 24, 2017 (age 90)
Jesse Calvin Abrams, also known as “J.C.”, was called home on Sunday, December 24th, 2017 at 12:15 p.m. His passing took place at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center (Brooklyn, New York) after a short struggle with his health.
J.C. was born in Evans, Georgia on May 27, 1927 to (the late) Moise Abrams and Mamie Irvin Abrams. He was one of twenty-one children from this loving family.
For over forty years, J.C. was a self-employed carpenter. These carpentry skills were taught to him by his father. J.C. was a well-respected business owner who was very popular in the neighborhood. He also owned multiple social clubs on Fulton Street in Brooklyn.
J.C. was an avid baseball enthusiast, loving it so much that he and some fellow friends put a team together called the Washington Avenue All-Stars which he managed.
J.C. was a great conversationalist who had stories for days about life adventures which helped guide people in their lives. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
J.C. leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Mary Lyons Abrams; three sons: Sylvester Abrams, Milton Lyons and Michael Abrams; five daughters: Josephine Fuller, Debra Washington, Jackie Belton, Michelle Lyons and Jessie Lyons Abrams; and a host of grandchildren and great-grands (too numerous to name), other relatives and many dear friends.
Jesse Calvin Abrams, or “J.C.” as he loved to be called,
was truly loved and will greatly be missed.
